POSITIVE...

After 5 months of trying to get pregnant, we are FINALLY expecting!!! We are all so excited, however, it hasn't really hit me yet. I thought I was coming down with the stomach virus that Lee & Carson had last week, but I am happy to announce it was just morning sickness. The baby is due sometime at the end of August or first of September. I just wanted to share my excitement with my fellow bloggers! I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I will keep in touch, as I go on this adventure again.

I am thankful for my wonderful family!

Living a life of Thanksgiving

Each day I am reminded how blessed I am. I have faith in God, I have a wonderful husband (that is also a wonderful dad), I have a precious and loving son, I have a great family, I have a home, a job...I could go on and on and on.

Lee and I have been trying to conceive another child for about 4 months now and each month that I am not pregnant, I get all upset. This month, I was about a week and a half late and I was starting to get excited and this morning Aunt Flow came to visit. I started to cry and Lee consoled me again for the 3rd month in a row. He reminded me that I am already so blessed with a son and that I should be thankful that we can conceive. I meet families all the time that adopted because they were unable to conceive. I was talking with a mother yesterday that her husband and her tried for 15 years! I thought to myself, how hard it would be to know you are unable to bear your own child. So, I am also thankful that Lee and I can conceive...eventually.

God is so good. So, I encourage you to live each day with a thankful heart!

Our GREAT Vacation...

Last week, we enjoyed a vacation in St. Pete, FL. It was so beautiful! We had a great time. We went canoeing, on a pirate ship, and so much more. Carson enjoyed playing in the ocean so much more than last year. He said he wanted to live there. I told him Lee & I did too. Check out some of our pictures!

Carson trip to the ER

While we were enjoying our evening at my parents house, Jonathan was balancing on a basketball and Carson wanted to try it. I told him that he could. So he stood on the ball and almost immediately fell & popped his elbow. Lee, my mom & Jonathan heard it pop. We all ran over to him and he was screaming. I knew he was in major pain. We took him to the ER and waited over 1 hour. FINALLY, he went back to have a x-ray and the dr. said it doesn't look broke. So, they put him in a sling and sent us on our way.

This morning we wake up and his elbow is so swollen and hot. He is still saying that it hurts. We have to keep the sling on until tomorrow and if he is still complaining with it then, we have to take him to an orthopedic dr.

Just keep him in your prayers!

Carson's First Sleep Over

Well, I made it through the night without Carson. He slept over at his friend, Bailey's house. I work with Bailey's mom, Leighanne, at Primrose. Carson and Bailey have been friends since birth. Carson has stayed over at grandparents house for a while, but never at a non-relative. I just called Leighanne to see how he did and she said, GREAT! The boys didn't go to sleep until about 1030pm. They woke up around 730am, ready to go play outside! While I was talking to her, they were playing on a Slip & Slide outside.

It's just so hard to believe that he is old enough to have sleep overs with friends...What's next? Boy/Girl Teen Parties? Double dates? Girlfriend? I need to stop, I stressing myself out:)

Our family vacation is BOOKED!

I am glad to write that our vacation for September is BOOKED & paid for! That is such a weight off my shoulders. We are going to Amelia Island, FL and staying at the Amelia Island Plantation. It is absolutely beautiful there. My friend and blogger, Kim Gailey Rogers, gave me the idea. Her family goes there every year.

So, in closing, I would like to thank Kim for responding to my blog! Thanks for the advice!

My Very Busy & Trying Week

I have had such a busy & trying week. Between, dealing with day to day operations of the school, I have also been stressed about hiring the most qualified ( degreed) Lead Teacher for our Pre-Kindergarten class. So, tonight was Open House and it went great. However, I just hired the teacher YESTERDAY!! I'm talking SHORT NOTICE!! Also, my best friend and the other director at the school is going on maternity leave next Wednesday, so I will be opening the school. I have to be there at least by 545am. EXHAUSTED!!

So anyway, Carson will start Pre-K next month. I can't believe that time has come. He is so excited and I am too because he will be wearing uniforms and I don't have to argue with him about what he wants to wear. He is so smart. I'm sure it is because he asks SO MANY QUESTIONS. I feel like my day is filled with questions I am forced to answer (even if I don't know the answer).

In closing, I just want to ask everyone who reads this to say a little prayer for me. Pray that the next 6 weeks that Elysha will be gone will fly by because I am not so much a morning person:)

Blessed...

It is sad to say, but most days I feel like I take my life for granted. I get so wrapped up in me, me, me, that I lose sight on who's most important in my life; such as: God, Lee, Carson, my family, etc... God has blessed me more than I could have ever imagined (more than I definitely deserved) . Lee is such a wonderful husband. I know that's what every wife says, but it is so true. I know it is hard to believe, and you are not going to believe this...but we don't see eye to eye on some things. We are so different, but somehow he is my better half and I could not imagine my life without him. Carson...he is absolutely the sweetest 4 (almost 5) year old I have ever seen...Trust me I have seen plenty in my line of work:) He is so much like me; has to have the last word in ANY argument, people person, persistent, so on & so on. My family is so close knit. We see each other, like, 2 x per week. My mom & I talk on the phone at least 1 x per day. My mom & I have always been close. She has been my best friend for so long! My dad & I, however, didn't have a strong relationship when I was growing up. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad with all my heart, but I didn't have the confidence to talk with him much growing up. This past year, my dad went through severe depression that sent him to Laurel Wood for attempted suicide. From that moment on, I have been so close to my dad because I realized how easily he could have been taken from us. My dad is my hero!!! I feel like I can now talk to him without fear. My sister & brother are so great. Of course, we have our differences, but that's what makes us work. We can argue one minute, then laugh about how stupid it was later.
So, anyway...I am thankful for the life I have...It is not always easy, but that's what makes it special...Each day is another lesson at life, love & happiness.

Vacation Trouble

Well, this is my first blog. I really don't have much to write about today. Other than, we are trying to plan our family vacation & we can't seem to agree on anything. Lee wants solitude...I want fun & adventure...Carson just wants a pool without an ocean. I'm sure you can see our dilemma. We want to go some where we have never been, like Siesta Key, in Sarasota, FL, but we also want to have things to do; like kayaking or parasailing. Carson, of coarse, wants to go to Disney, but we went to Disney last year. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. We need all the help we can get.
